The problem
Commission agents in grain markets keep complex ledgers by hand: commissions, advances, direct deals and settlements, in Urdu, often with no reliable internet in the market.
The approach
- 01Built with Electron.js, React and TypeScript, with a local database so the ledger works with no connection at all.
- 02Money handled as integers to the paisa; direct deals recorded as all-or-nothing transactions so a half-saved deal can never exist.
- 03Urdu-first right-to-left interface with Nastaliq type and Urdu receipts on thermal printers.

What it taught us
- Zero-to-one products come from a real problem you have watched up close, not a market report.
- Offline-first is not a limitation; for many Pakistani businesses it is the requirement.
